Guidelines and Grading Scale for Research Paper

Total Productive maintenance(Title )
In this assignment students will develop research ideas related to their chosen topics and then use those ideas to create the final research paper.
The assignment is divided into two submissions: research proposal (20%) and final paper (80%).
A. Research Proposal:
Student will propose the main idea/focus/or research interest according to their topic. The proposal must include 3-4 references (journal articles) that will be used for writing the content of the final paper.
Example:
Topic: Lean Manufacturing
Focus: This paper focuses on applying lean manufacturing in healthcare operation. The paper will describe steps for implementing lean principles and identify challenges of lean implementation in healthcare facilities.

B. Final Paper:
Student writes full research paper (minimum 4 pages). The paper must include introduction and conclusion sections. In-text references must be used throughout the paper.
Paper Format: Follow APA style strictly
Suggestions:
1. Start working on the proposal/paper soon after the first class meeting.
2. Must use your own words. If originality check shows 20% or more for the paper content the paper will receive zero.
3. Proofread the final paper before submitting each misspelling will count for one point loss in the paper.
4. It is a good idea to develop an outline before your writing so that you may have clear vision on your writing outcome.
5. Avoid unnecessary lists or bullet points that are used for making up the space.
6. Make everything clear and concise. All references in the proposal must be used in your final paper.
Evaluation Guidelines:
A. Research Proposal ( points)
1. Is the main idea/focus/or research interest consistent with the chosen topic 5 points
2. Are there sufficient references provided? 5 points
3. Are references related to the main idea/focus/or research interest 5 points
4. Are references followed APA style? 5 points
B. Final Paper ( points)
1. Is the introduction interesting and effective? 10 points
2. Does the paper have enough content to support the main idea? 30 points 3.Does the paper have clear summary or conclusion? 10 points
4.Are the conclusions/summary and effective and consistent with the content?
10 points
5. Are references correctly cited (in-text) and listed (formal)? 5 points
6. Is the paper written free of grammatical or spelling errors? 5 points
7. Does the paper conform to APA style? 5 points
8. Does the paper have a professional appearance? 5 points
