Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorder

Additional research needs to be done to understand their impact on causing mental disorders. Anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder result from feelings of fear, whereas related disorders are a result of having psychological pains. In the current research, there has been an increased number of cases of these disorders in the U.S. individuals who are more affected by these disorders are between the age of 15 years and 50 years. The disorders have resulted in many mental illness cases in the united states, which is why I think that this topic should be researched further to understand these outcomes (Reddy et al., 2020).

Research Question

Mental disorders have been caused by having thoughts and behaviour that seem to be abnormal. These are complications that lead to brain malfunctioning, and therefore a person may fail to reason well. Some of the causes of mental disorders include gene mutation, life experiences, traumas, brain injury, and biological factors like chemicals. Although these factors are the leading causes of mental disorders, it has been realized that anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and related disorders have become major causes of mental illness. For this reason, I am going to research and analyze a discussion that explains why these disorders increase mental disorders by 20 % (Albert et al., 2016).

Research Method

For my research paper PSY 452, I used a survey method to question healthcare professionals. I prepared a series of questions concerning anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder and related disorders. I obtained additional feedback, which was pointed to answer the same questions. I also happened to see the statistics from the world health organization about these disorders. This helped me build my research on facts, and I could come up with relevant conclusions and recommendations. The healthcare providers were so willing to respond to my questions, and therefore they gave me detailed information about these disorders and how they have impacted people's lives. My survey was relevant and practical (Jacobsen., 2020).
